Forbes Middle East has released a top 50 list of online newspapers in the MENA region based on “the newspapers’ presence online, their content and the number of followers they generate“. Here’s the entire list:

well if the number of followers plays an important role than it’s normal for algeria and egypt to be dominant considering their respective populations
Remember this is online readership – population may be a factor but that wouldn’t explain while small countries such as Kuwait and the UAE made it within the top 10 (especially given that the UAE newspaper, Gulf News, isn’t even in Arabic).
